The etching techniology is a very old, manual and still popular process in surface finishing, mostly in the plastic sampling process. As a customer, you benefit from the decades of experience of our technicians involved.

Masking with acid-resistant coating to protect those areas which may not be affected by the acids.

Lay down film, i.e. transfer of the designs via carrier medium prints/foils into the tool and retouching of the seams for a uniform appearance, as a purely manual process step.

Acid bath, sandblasting & control

Chemical reaction by dipping the tools into the acid bath and removing material from the areas not protected by the film application, sandblasting and checking whether the result corresponds to the master design   

Gloss level adjustment

Last but not least, the required gloss level is measured in the tool and adjusted to the production requirements of the subsequent processes.
